What is Restorative Yoga?

Restorative yoga is a gentle, relaxing form of yoga focused on healing and restoring the body and mind. In class, you don't even have to stand up.  Great for all levels and ages, Restorative Yoga emphasizes long-held poses, supported by props such as blankets, bolsters, straps and blocks, allowing the body to fully relax without effort required. The goal is to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps reduce stress, promote relaxation, and facilitate healing.  In these longer held poses, we get to access deep rest as we learn to quiet the mind.

Unlike more active forms of yoga, restorative yoga prioritizes stillness, deep breathing, and gentle stretching, making it ideal for people recovering from injury, dealing with stress, or seeking a calming practice. It’s often used to balance the effects of a busy lifestyle and provide deep rest.

Whether you're new to yoga, seeking a way to quiet your busy mind, or looking to connect with like-minded souls, this class offers the perfect introduction to a mindful and gentle yoga practice.

My teaching philosophy centers on guiding you to slow down and reconnect with yourself. Through gentle postures, breathwork, and guided meditation, you'll create space to fully unwind on your mat—cultivating a sense of calm that you can carry with you into everyday life.

Livingood Yoga Studio

I've transformed my garage into a serene yoga studio sanctuary, thoughtfully designed to provide a tranquil and spacious environment for up to four people. This intimate setting ensures that each participant enjoys personalized attention while experiencing the calming benefits of yoga in a warm, welcoming space.

I offer small group classes every other Tuesday, creating a unique opportunity to deepen your practice, unwind, and connect with a supportive community. Each session is carefully curated to foster relaxation and renewal, making it an ideal space to explore your yoga journey. I would be delighted to have you join us for this special experience.

At a time when I was feeling a little lost, and alone, and having a habit of isolating myself, I was approached by Tiffany to join her Sister Circle. I had no idea what was in store for this journey in my life but I’m so grateful that I said yes. In the Sister Circle, the space was calm, serene, and welcoming surrounded by candlelight and a beautiful display of flowers and articles from Mother Nature. In this space, I felt welcomed, held, and loved. I was able to be vulnerable and open and tap into my authentic self. Tiffany gave tremendous feedback and support during our time in the circle, the kind of support that she gave was one of complete present listening and positive feedback and we were all able to cultivate a space of safety and love, and from that, we gathered our affirmations for the month. I will forever be grateful to Tiffany for opening up the space of sacred sisterhood, where I was able to come out of my shell and express my authentic self.
